watercolor
7.75” x 14.5”
This was painted in honor of the glorious Beech Tree that balances fire, earth, air, and water so effortlessly. It contains folkloric references from the Celtic tradition while specifically calling in the female norns of Norse mythology who tend to the roots of the tree of life and water them from the wells of ancient wisdom. Its point of inspiration came from the Irish proverb ‘athníon ciaróg ciaróg eile’ (a beetle recognizes another beetle).
This is a prayer to integrate, alchemize, and balance fire where fire feels out of control.
